Hello! My name is Joan Barry. I have worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. I started my career as a Registered Nurse on a medical/surgical hospital unit and then in a critical care unit. I later moved into healthcare administration eventually creating two successful healthcare consulting businesses.
My goal in creating my blog and my series of eBooks is to empower you, the healthcare consumer, to make good decisions based on the best information available.
There is so much information on the internet – some of it good and some of it not so good. I spend many hours each day researching. I take the good content from multiple internet resources and combine it with my years of healthcare experience to provide you with what I believe is the best healthcare information to assist you in making good decisions.
I will work with you finding a doctor to treat your medical condition but I won’t tell you how to treat a particular medical condition.
I will share with you how the pharmaceutical industry works defining all their strange terms but I won’t give you my opinion about your medications prescribed by your doctor.
I will provide you with the forms and instructions to create a Living Will, Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare and your Personal Health Record but my role is not to “tell” you that you must complete these forms.
Please know empowering you with quality information so you can take control of your healthcare decisions will be my top priority.
